Join us for the first in a series of community discussions on race and social justice issues hosted by the Mount Baker Community Club. Our goal is to increase understanding and foster trust in our neighborhood. Guests will include The Seattle Times "Under Our Skin" creators, NAAM, 21 Progress, Bishop Greg Rocket, the Seattle Public Schools Equity and Race Relations Team and more.

Co-hosted by the Northwest African American Museum. Supported by Meaningful Movies Mount Baker.

Excerpt from the producer of "Under Our Skin": "Discussions about race, inclusiveness and sensitivity clearly aren't new. They can leave us feeling depleted and wondering whether anything has really changed. For those of us who freeze up at the prospect of talking about race, we hope this project will help break the ice. For those who tend to take sides right away when the issue of race comes up, we hope Under Our Skin will challenge assumptions and build common ground."
